Jeffrey E. Horvitz is Vice Chairman of Moreland Management Company, a single family investment office in Beverly, MA and Mayfield Heights, OH established in 1987. He has done hundreds of fund investments in the US, Europe, and Asia. He also developed proprietary US and international low cost, tax-sensitive non-indexed passive stock portfolios with long term top performance.

He has published in the Financial Analyst Journal, Journal of Wealth Management, Journal of Investments, and Pensions & Investments, on topics such as tax deferral and tax loss harvesting, portfolio rebalancing, asset allocation, the estate tax, fiduciary duty law, and the art market. He co-authored the CFA Research Institute monograph, Investment Management for Private Taxable Investors. He is a frequent speaker at investment conferences on a wide variety of topics.

He is well known in the art world for his extensive collection of French old master drawings and paintings for which he was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2012 and is an honorary trustee of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He and his wife Carol also collect Chinese cinnabar lacquer and Japanese contemporary ceramics which are actively loaned to more than a dozen US museums.

He has a B.A. and M.A. in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in psychology from U.C.L.A.
