Stuart Caplan, Chief Investment Officer

Stu is a seasoned investment professional with experience in multiple asset classes including equity, fixed income, hedge funds, and real estate. Previously, he worked for Brickell Capital Management, a multi-family investment office in Miami, Fl, where he managed several portfolios of varied instruments. He began his career with his family’s retail art supply chain based in Silver Spring, Md. Stu received his MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and his BSBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, cum laude, from the University of Arizona.

Clark Edlund, Managing Director - Investments Strategies

Clark Edlund serves as Managing Director – Investment Strategies. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment themes as well as monitoring existing investments. Clark also facilitates the ability of outside investors, including family offices, registered investment advisors, and institutions, to co-invest with the firm and our shareholders. He also serves on the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees.
Clark has over a decade of investment-specific industry experience, including asset management, business development, and client relations. He most recently served as Senior Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager to a boutique healthcare-focused private equity manager. Prior to that, Clark served as Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager to a NASDAQ traded mutual fund.
Clark graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. He also became a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) in 2012 and currently serves on the advisory committee for the Texas Alternative Investment Association. Clark is a native Houstonian and spends most of his time outside of work with his wife, Lauren, and two boys, Maddox and Weston.

Mike Kinney, Founding Partner

Mr. Kinney is the Founding Principal of Capital Group, LLC a boutique investment sales consulting firm that focuses on designing business development & capital markets strategies for under-the-radar asset managers, real estate private placements, non-profit organizations, start-up ventures, and social impact investments here in the states and overseas.

Over the course of his 25-year career in Institutional Sales, Mike has served as Vice President/Regional Director for financial institutions such as Nuveen, Van Kampen, and American Realty Capital.  He has successfully raised more than $2B from both the public and private sectors. Along the way, cultivating deep relationships with Institutions, Family Offices, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. Mike brings the diversified skill sets of raising capital, consulting to mergers/acquisitions, Capital Markets, and product distribution. Product Knowledge & Experience includes mutual funds, separately managed accounts, non-traded REITs, Reg D’s & private placements, Hedge Funds, and Master Limited Partnerships.

Mr. Kinney holds a B.A. in Business/Economics from Wheaton College and maintains the FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.

Jonathan LaCrosse, Managing Member [Webinar Chair]  

Jonathan D. LaCrosse is the Founder of LaCrosse Investments 374, LLC, an alternative investment placement firm dedicated to raising capital for funds and deals. He has more than 20 years of alternative investment experience, including fundraising sales in excess of $4.5 billion in assets, investing more than $4 billion in 165 funds, secondaries and co-investments, and roles on 35 Board Director and Advisory Boards.

Previously, he was Co-Founder, President and CEO of Trusted Insight, Inc, the largest online alternative investment marketplace focused on matching investments across new funds, secondary transactions and co-investments. Members include 400+ institutional investors from 90 countries. During his tenure at Trusted Insight, Mr. LaCrosse led a Series A financing from premier venture capitalists and leading financial technology angel investors.

From 2006-2009, Mr. LaCrosse was a Founding Partner of Centinela Capital Partners, LLC (separate accounts with CalPERS), an alternative investment fund-of-funds with over $1 billion of assets under management and a focus on emerging managers. He was an investment committee member involved in the approval of over $825 million to 41 deals and served on 7 advisory boards.

From 1994-2006, Mr. LaCrosse was an Investment Officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where he was in charge of its private equity, below investment grade credit and real assets strategies, including sourcing, executing, and monitoring investments. He led all efforts with regards to due diligence on investment proposals, the negotiating and structuring of key investment terms in partnership agreements, building of financial models and the trading of in-kind distributions from leveraged buyout and venture capital funds. Mr. LaCrosse was responsible for investing over $3.1 billion in 121 alternative investment funds, including over $730 million in 37 emerging manager funds. While at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Mr. LaCrosse served on 25 advisory boards across the following types of funds: buyouts, venture capital, growth, secondary, mezzanine, distressed, real estate, timber, and fund-of-funds.

Mr. LaCrosse earned an M.B.A. from Rider University and B.S. from Rowan University. He holds Series 7, 63, and 79 securities licenses.

Ed Stanton, Co-Founder & Managing Principle 

Mr. Stanton brings over 20 years of commercial real estate investment experience to the Company. For the past 11 years, Mr. Stanton has focused exclusively on GSA leased real estate investments. Mr. Stanton is directly responsible for the development and implementation of the Company’s corporate, investment and capitalization strategies.

Mr. Stanton’s previous experience includes co-founding HC Government Realty Trust (“HCGRT”), a federal government REIT, where he served as a Director and the Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Stanton was also the Founder and President of Holmwood Capital, the predecessor to HCGRT and Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of Holmwood Capital Advisors, the external manager of HCGRT, where he was responsible for the development creation and implementation of the companies’ investment and capital structuring strategies. Collectively these entities acquired and managed 17 GSA leased properties representing more than $100 million.

Mr. Stanton previously co-founded U.S. Federal Properties Trust where he was responsible for developing and implementing the acquisition strategy of 19 GSA leased properties representing approximately $250 million. Prior to U.S. Federal Properties Trust, he co-founded SRS Investments, a private real estate investment firm where he oversaw all aspects of acquisition, capital structuring, and asset management of a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate investment properties.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Stanton has transacted on more than $1 billion of commercial real estate.

Mr. Stanton holds a BA degree from Rollins College and an MBA degree from Georgetown University.

Kevin McCaffrey, Director

Kevin McCaffrey is a Vice President at LaCrosse Investments 374, LLC, where he focuses on business development, deal origination, and raising capital. He will also expand the firm’s reach and highlight clients’ expertise in relevant events and media. He has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience across corporate environments and the capital markets – including private equity, venture capital, real estate, equities trading, equity research, and market research.

Before joining the team, Kevin built the PartnerConnect conference series for Thomson Reuters. Starting with the launch in 2011, his focus was connecting institutional investors with fund managers by leveraging events and media services through several acquisitions. He presided over 12,000 pre-screened LP/GP meetings and accelerated fundraising efforts for hundreds of funds in Private Equity and Venture Capital primarily.

Mr. McCaffrey also launched market research services for Frost & Sullivan and equity research services for a NYSE Broker/Dealer following a successful exit from his own real estate and construction company.

Kevin earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, where he also played Division I Lacrosse. 

He holds the Series 79 securities license.

Mary D'Souza, Chief Investment Officer

Mary is the Chief Investment Officer of Misha Investments and CFO & Director of a biotech company.  She has extensive experience in investing and capital markets. Over the past 20 years, she has structured, placed, or invested in structured products, bank loans, junior capital, high yield, early-stage companies, real estate, and private equity funds.

Prior to Misha Investments, Mary worked for 3 years at Four M Investments where she was Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the family office. She was responsible for cash management, tax planning, and investments in fixed income, equity, MLPs, Preferreds, real estate, and funds. Prior to Four M Investments, Mary worked as a Managing Director at GE Capital Markets for 9 years where she was responsible for establishing and running the junior capital business and helped set up the unitranche fund with Allied Capital (later sold to Ares). She built deep relationships with banks, private equity funds, hedge funds, distressed funds, mezzanine funds, insurance companies, BDCs, and other alternate sources of capital. She placed over $13 billion in volume and 150+ deals, which included acquisition financing, refinancing, recapitalizations, restructurings (Radnet, CCA), DIPS (Delta DIP), EXITS (Delta, US Air), amendments, and trading of loans.

Wylie Fernyhough, Senior PE Analyst

Wylie is a Senior PE Analyst at PitchBook, where he leads the firm’s core private equity and M&A research. He oversees the PE teams’ broader research projects and coverage, spanning technology-focused buyout firms, growth equity, mega-funds, and more. He also produces thematic research spanning GP stakes, public PE firms, and PE firm valuations. Fernyhough led an initiative to build out a proprietary valuation tool used for closed-end private capital managers. Prior to joining PitchBook, he served as a portfolio manager at Harvest Capital, a boutique wealth management firm based in Washington.

David spent nearly ten years in various roles primarily managing individual client assets prior to co-founding Season Investments. Sam Isaacson, President

Mr. Isaacson joined WDIP in 2016 and is the President of WDIP. In addition to leading the firm and setting its overall strategy, Mr. Isaacson oversees WDIP’s investment platforms, through which he has deployed approximately $600 million.

Prior to joining WDIP, Mr. Isaacson was a Senior Vice President of acquisitions at LEM Capital (“LEM”), an institutional value-add multifamily investor in Philadelphia. In this role, he was responsible for the underwriting and due diligence of potential investments. Before joining LEM, Mr. Isaacson worked in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities in their Financial Institutions Group where he focused on capital markets and M&A transactions involving REITs and specialty finance companies. Most noteworthy was his involvement in the $250 million IPO of a commercial mortgage REIT. Prior to business school, Mr. Isaacson practiced law, where he focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions and related antitrust litigation in the airline industry. Mr. Isaacson began his career in the construction industry, where he primarily built single family and multifamily residential.

Mr. Isaacson received a Master of Business Administration (graduating with honors) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Juris Doctorate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law (f/k/a the William Mitchell College of Law), and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Minnesota.
