John Dickie, Co-Head of US Private Equity at abdrn 

John Dickie is Co-Head of Private Equity USA based in the Boston office. His primary responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating and executing primary investments and co-investments and he is a member of the Investment Committee. John joined the company in 2015 from the FLAG Capital Management heritage team where he held a role of Principal.

Prior to joining FLAG in 2010, John was a Principal at Berkshire Partners. Previously, he worked at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners as a Senior Analyst-Private Equity. He began his career with Credit Suisse First Boston as a Financial Analyst in the Investment Banking division.

John holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.

Maneesh Gandhi, Partner, Due Diligence at Evanston Capital Management

Prior to joining ECM in 2008, Maneesh worked in the private equity sector for five years for Svoboda, Collins, and ICV Capital, both late-stage buyout firms. 

Maneesh is primarily responsible for private equity and venture sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence of prospective investments and ongoing monitoring of existing investments, and also assists in operational due diligence of prospective and existing hedge fund managers.

He has also worked for Merrill Lynch Mergers and Acquisitions group within Investment Banking.

Maneesh holds a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Howard Gurvitch, Managing Member at HRG Group (aka Gurvitch Family Office)

Howard Gurvitch is a New York City-based entrepreneur and private investor. He is the sole managing member of HRG, LLC, a privately-held “family office” investment management company he founded in 2006 that manages a diversified investment portfolio of direct investments, public and private securities, hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and venture capital.

From 1987 through 2005, Gurvitch was a Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. He began in the Firm's Investment Banking Group working with middle-market companies within a wide range of industries in connection with their M&A, strategic planning and equity and fixed income capital raising activities. As an investment consultant, and as the founding member of HG Consultants, he worked to identify, quantify and address the unique requirements of high net worth entrepreneurs as well as the owners, employees, and financial fiduciaries of private and closely-held businesses and organizations as well as numerous public companies. Prior to that, he was a Vice President of Ivan F. Boesky & Company, a private investment company. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The University of Rhode Island in 1980, received his JD from The National Law Center of The George Washington University in 1983, and subsequently attended the NYU School of Law LLM Tax Program.

He is married and lives in New York City with his wife, Dr. Dana Gurvitch, and their son, Justin.

Christopher Johnson, Principal at Knightsbridge Advisers

Chris’s career in alternative assets includes providing investing, operations, and strategic insight for leading private fund general partners (“GPs”) and institutional limited partners (“LPs”). Chris is actively involved in all aspects of portfolio management, including all investment due diligence.

Prior to joining Knightsbridge, Christopher was an Associate Director at Constellation Advisers, where he provided valuation, due diligence, and strategic advice for leading private equity and venture capital GPs ranging in size from $5 million to $1.5 billion. Chris was also responsible for implementing and performing extensive manager due diligence programs for LP clients ranging in size from $50 million to $5 billion AUM.

Prior, Christopher was an economic and technical consultant who worked with faculty at Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, and UCLA on investment and technology-related litigation matters. Chris also served as an economic policy analyst in the Obama administration.

Chris holds MBA and MS degrees from Carnegie Mellon University as well as two BA degrees from the University of Maine, both magna cum laude. He is a Kauffman Fellow.

Nash Waterman, Head of PE Secondaries at Morgan Stanley

Nash is the Head of the AIP Private Markets Secondaries team. He has 18 years of industry experience. Prior to his current role, Nash was an analyst working across the AIP Private Markets investment platform on primaries, co-investments, and secondaries. Previously, he was a member of the quantitative strategy group supporting the Morgan Stanley Investment Management value equity teams. Nash received a B.A. in economics and German from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Vishal Shah, Director at Northleaf Capital Partners

Vishal Shah participates in the origination, evaluation, and monitoring of Northleaf’s private equity investments.

Prior to joining Northleaf in 2013, Vishal was a Senior Associate with Bay Hills Capital, a private equity fund of funds in San Francisco focused on North American small-market buyouts. Previously, Vishal worked as an investment analyst with Fort Washington Capital Partners, a private equity fund of funds in Cincinnati, where he evaluated and conducted due diligence on a wide range of buyout, venture capital, and mezzanine fund investments and co-investments. Vishal also has experience at Pelion Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm in Salt Lake City. 

Vishal received an M.B.A from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an M.A. (Economics) from Virginia Tech, and a B.A. (Economics) from The College of William & Mary.

Kevin McCaffrey, Vice-President

Kevin McCaffrey is a Vice President at Gabriel Horn Capital, LLC, where he focuses on business development, deal origination, and raising capital. He will also expand the firm’s reach and highlight clients’ expertise in relevant events and media. He has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience across corporate environments and the capital markets – including private equity, venture capital, real estate, equities trading, equity research, and market research.

Before joining the team, Kevin built the PartnerConnect conference series for Thomson Reuters. Starting with the launch in 2011, his focus was connecting institutional investors with fund managers by leveraging events and media services through several acquisitions. He presided over 12,000 pre-screened LP/GP meetings and accelerated fundraising efforts for hundreds of funds in Private Equity and Venture Capital primarily.

Mr. McCaffrey also launched market research services for Frost & Sullivan and equity research services for a NYSE Broker/Dealer following a successful exit from his own real estate and construction company.

Kevin earned a B.S. (Industrial Engineering) from Lehigh University, where he also played Division I Lacrosse. He holds the Series 79 securities license.
